Like every generation parents try their best to get their kids ahead of the game. ABC kids games have been used for several generations. These games are very useful in helping young children to learn how to memorize different things that will be utilized in a child's development. Before the creation of the Internet most of these games were handed down from grandparents, parents and other relatives. Most of these games were developed utilizing the actual information you were wanting to the child to be taught and intertwining different songs and activities to encourage learning.
Over the decades many different types of technology have been used to enhance ABC kids games. Many toy manufacturers designed entire product lines to help parents teach the basic fundamental skills needed for their children's growth. In the late 70s and early 80s game consoles were used to help children learn their ABCs and how to count. The game consoles also widen the selection because it brought in friendly competition and it took advantage of brighter colors and a wider variety of music.
With the introduction of the PC in the mid-to-late 80s this opened up many different avenues for ABC kids games to expand their market. The PC like the game consoles made it much more interactive for the children. Where the PC change the game was the delivery system was much easier and faster and more cost-effective than the game console. You had enhanced graphics and many more tools to expand the scope of learning for the children. What this did is gave parents the tools to expand their children's knowledge base from just ABCs and 123’s to many other things. Even before the Internet these games were expanding into different storylines that would keep the children very interested in the learning process without even knowing they were learning.
In the early years of the Internet the ABC kids games only differentiated themselves by helping people access games to be loaded directly on the PC. The Internet definitely made it more convenient for the parents to expand the variety of games available but due to the lack of Internet speed available this restricted the game use to the PC alone.
Over time as the PC has gotten faster and faster and the expansion of broadband Internet the availability of ABC kids games has expanded greatly. What this has opened parents and children alike to is the availability to access practically any game available at a moment’s notice. This has also enhanced the learning for the children because it allows them to compete with different types of games with people from all over the world. The ABC kids games that are available today stimulate the child's learning on so many levels.
